ipsy May 2014

My personal image.

I loved the bag this month. The adorable green leaves is perfect for me. I still carry this one in my purse each day. It has a pretty good amount of space in it. It holds my makeup I keep with me and some.

I'm the average person and I use something from the drugstore so I didn't really see the need to run out and purchase this adorably packaged sunscreen. It worked great. I used it on a day I went to a theme park and it kept me from burning. I used it on my face that day too and I didn't break out or anything crazy, which is a super plus. Overall it is a fine product but I prefer the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration sunscreen.

There were two options you could receive and I got Moonbeam and Unicorn duo. I was really excited about this until I used it. The colors aren't very pigmented. You have to apply so much to try and get any color on the eyes. It works great if you want a light natural look on your eyes but if you wanted the plum color in the pan then you will be disappointed.

Four different color options for this nail polish. I got the color shown here, Champagne. It looked terrible on my hand. It didn't work with my skin tone. I gave it to my Mother-in-law and it looked great on her nails. I was sad that I couldn't wear the color so I don't really know if I like the polish or not because all I did was swatch it on myself. I wish I had gotten the red or the pink color instead.

This worked great for my combination skin. The only downside to this is the price! This is crazy expensive for a daily moisturizer. I'm sure you can find a product that works just as nice at a lower price point. If you have money to just throw around then go right ahead and purchase it. It's a great lightweight moisturizer. Full size is $55 for 1.7oz bottle.

I love makeup brushes and was super excited about getting this. However, mine was scratchy. I don't reach for it very often because it can irritate my eye and make it itchy. This was a big fail for me, sadly.

Overall my May bag was decent. I really enjoy the makeup bag this month. The products weren't anything to die for though.

This was amazing! A little goes a long way. I still have plenty of my sample left to use. It is easy to apply and build up if you want a stronger color. I had wanted this for so long and all my waiting paid off since I got this in my second bag! It was as wonderful as I had hoped it to be. Plus, this sample size is just adorable.

This amazing Cailyn lip balm came in two shades and I received the shade acid pink which is a crazy hot pink. It is stunning. I wouldn't call these a "lip balm" because they are like a lip stick. It is super pigmented and long lasting, for me anyway. It has a nice matte finish and it didn't feel too drying on the lips. A lot of people dislike the packaging but I think it so smart. The lip brush is made into the cap, which I think is just amazing. If you want to touch up on the go it's perfect. I would love to own nearly every shade, haha, impractical I know.

This is such a creamy eye pencil. I've never tried an Urban Decay eye pencil before and this is a pretty good size to test out. It is super pigmented. This stays on pretty well. I really like this for the tightline or the waterline because the pencil glides on so smoothly. It didn't irritate my eye or contacts which is a super plus. It is a really great product.

When first trying out this product I didn't really enjoy it. I just wasn't comfortable using it. After trying it out I like it. It is a pretty highlighter. I love to use it on my cheek bones and my brow bone. I'm quite a pale person and this works great for me.

There were five different styles of lashes sent out and I got the "Shy" style. They are very pretty. I loved them. I didn't enjoy the glue and opted to use my own the next time I wore these, however, I really enjoyed the lashes. They feel so comfortable on and looked great.

Overall April's bag was great! I really liked everything I got. I don't really see me using the bag all that much but it's pretty cute with the record on it. All the products were great choices for me, so great job ipsy on that.

ipsy March 2014

This was my first glam bag that started my addiction shall I say. Interesting design on this bag. I really liked the art aspect of it.

This mini lipstick is just too adorable. The color is stunning. This is a pink shade that would be wearable for many skin tones. It applies very creamy. The color is very pigmented and quite durable. It lasts for hours on the lips especially if you're not eating or drinking a lot. After eating I still had color just not as much of course. I really enjoyed the formula and wouldn't mind having a few of the shades.

I wasn't too sure about this nail polish until I actually received it and tried it out. I really love it. It is textured but not rough like you would think. I thought it was going to feel like sand and snag your sweaters or something, however that isn't the case at all. It's smooth yet bumpy, if that helps anyone. The shade is very wearable. I would love to find more of the roughles collection.

This is my first item from Be a Bombshell and I am very pleased. I love all the colors especially the copper shade. These are very pigmented and easy to work with. I am so happy I received this in my first bag.

This is was my first time trying a Pixi product. I'm not huge on primers because I really can't find one that works so great that I want to wear it before foundation every single time I apply makeup. This one is no exception. It's a radiant nude shade. It makes the skin look very pretty. It just isn't something I personally need to run out and purchase. If you happen to love primers I would say give this a try. It's a great product just something I wouldn't necessarily grab for each day. Also, if you have oily skin you may want to use this sparingly because it is very glowy and luminous.

Overall for my first Glam Bag I was very pleased. It was well worth the $10 a month. You can use these product more than a single use which in my opinion is just amazing for a sampling subscription.

ipsy Subscription

For the last 10 months I have been doing ipsy. I actually have enjoyed this so much. I have decided to start reviewing each bag here for everyone to read. Hopefully, this doesn't turn into a hot mess.
So coming soon will be reviews of each month I am subscribed, starting with March 2014.

For those of you that don't know what ipsy is, it is a $10/month subscription service. They offer beauty related items. Anything from makeup, hair care, skin care, and makeup tools. You take a personal quiz about your skin, hair, and other things like that then each month you get a bag curated to your quiz. Every month there is a theme and new makeup bag.

Happy reading everyone.
